The campaign began at the food mall where many of us serve. Behind the housekeeping, security, kitchen and support roles are stories that almost always start in a village – rural households where land, water or work ran short, and a son or daughter took the bus to Pune. Each ration kit – rice, dal, oil, sugar, salt, tea, basic spices – is one less expense in the money they send home. We hand kits over personally, on the premises. No paperwork.
